Collection Disconnection | Little by Little #4 - Smile Beautiful

Hey there! Today I wanted to share a fun layout that I created for my Collection Disconnection series on YouTube. I'm still loving the Shimelle Little by Little collection and have a cool way to use a 12 x 12 cut apart sheet today.

I love the paper full of floral wreaths and decided that instead of using them all separately, I would use a whole strip together to document how cute my daughter looks in my husband's sunglasses and how I can't believe she's so grown up... *sniff*

I placed my photos behind the wreaths and put the whole strip on some watercolor paper that I painted to match each color block. Since I was already going matchy-matchy, I decided I would embellish that way too!

I really love the way it turned out and I would encourage you to try using a whole strip of a cut apart sheet on your next layout! And embellish in coordinating colors!

If you want to see how it all came together, you can watch the process video below.

I've linked to all available products at the end of the post. Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to check out my Collection Disconnection playlist on YouTube to see all of the videos in this series!

The Ink Road | Layout + Process Video + Giveaway!

Hello! I'm happy to share some fun new stamps from The Ink Road with you today. This is their first stamp release and it's super fun and snarky - which I love!

I used my favorite set from this release, Meow Mix, to create a layout about our naughty little kitten, Crookshanks.

I used some fun new stuff from Pinkfresh Studio + some scraps for my background. I used some watercolors on scrap cardstock, stamped out some cute/silly cat faces, and die cut them into circles.

I used some of the Crate Paper Cool Kid collection and it worked perfectly for this story. I added some cat word stickers from Seven Paper (no longer a thing) and love the silly cat phrases.

I added a little bit of detail with a black pen around my die cut cats and the outer edge of the page to finish it up!

If you want to check out the entire process, watch the video. ;)

Now for the fun stuff! Lara Smith from The Ink Road has generously offered to give away a $15 gift certificate to one of my readers/subscribers. Please watch the video below to learn how to enter and leave a comment on the video, not on this blog post to be entered to win!

Good luck! I have linked to all available products used in my layout below. Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks for stopping by!

AE Digital Projects: March 2017 Digital Kit

The March 2017 Digital Kit from Ali Edwards is full of fresh, Springtime inspiration. I created two projects with it, one of which is 100% digital. That's something I haven't done in ages and I kind of really liked it!

I resized a digital card to 8.5"x11", added a photo + some text and called it good to go. Love how simple it was and it has a very editorial vibe to it, which I love.

I also created Week 07 of my Project Life® album (I'll show you Week 06 next week!) and I have a full video tutorial on how I created the digital elements and then the physical assembly of the spread.

This week, my friend and I went to Midway (a quaint little mountain town) for a couple of days, so I included a 3"x8" insert for more photos. I really wanted a 6x8 full size photo as well.

I added a lot of text + digital elements right on my photos and you can see all the ins and outs of that in the process video. :) Here are a few detail shots...

I added stapled puffy hearts from Freckled Fawn throughout the spread. It's really the only embellishment and I like keeping it simple.

Take a peek at the video to see how I created the shaped text on my large photo and how I added the other digital elements to my cards. You can find this awesome kit in Ali's shop here. I've linked to all other available products below.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Ali Edwards Story Kits™: Numbers

The theme for the current Ali Edwards Story Kit™ has my mind reeling with ideas. So far, I've only had time to put one into fruition, but I'm really pleased with the outcome.

In October, I went on a cruise and took the opportunity to show myself a little self-love and self-care. I wanted to find inner peace. And I did. With my best friend on Amiga Island off the coast of Haiti. For Christmas, she gave me a necklace with the coordinates for Amiga Island etched on it and as soon as I saw the Numbers kit, I knew what I was going to do for my layout.

I used both the digital and physical kits to create an 8.5" x 11" layout + a 6" x 11" insert for my journaling, which is lengthy.

I used the digital numbers to create my coordinates and cut them out on my Silhouette. It's really hard to see in the photo, but I also printed the numbers in light blue directly on the photo and offset the white cardstock numbers on top.

I also wrote the words "amiga island" with a black marker, traced them in Silhouette Studio and cut them out of white cardstock too. Below the photo I added a number journal card (with altered color) from the digital kit and some circles and sequins from this Story Kit and past ones.

I printed my journaling and the blue circle on a 6" x 11" piece of Epson Matte Premium Presentation Paper and added more circles from the Story Kits.

I love that this layout really focuses on the story because it was an amazing experience that I don't want to leave undocumented. You can watch the whole thing come together, including the Photoshop and Silhouette stuff, in the process video.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I so appreciate it. You can find out more about Ali's Story Kits™ here. Most of the products used are from those kits, but I've linked to other available products below.
