I'm excited to announce a new series on my blog and YouTube channel. Where do you glean inspiration for your scrapbooking layouts? Perhaps it's your photos. Maybe you browse other people's layouts on Pinterest or in online galleries. Maybe your product inspires you.
In this series I want to show you how you can find inspiration from sources that might be a little bit harder to interpret. I'll share a new way each week over the course of the next five weeks, starting with mood boards.

Mood boards come in various forms, some very structured and some very free form. In the video below, I'll show you several mood boards and give you ideas on how to translate them in your scrapbooking. I'll also show you how I interpreted the photo above into a layout of my own.
Here is what the finished layout looks like. I used the colors, the photo style, the textures, and the patterns from the mood board on my layout.
I also incorporated a 6 x 12 project life page protector (Design H, if you're wondering) to hold extra photos and story.
I hope that you'll give mood boards a try when you are creating your next layout. Need one to get you started? Use the one I used today, or check out my Inspiration Pinterest board!
