Stash Kits: Old Meets New - November Kit

Hey everyone! I'm back to share the stash kit I'll be using to create layouts throughout November. I decided to make a Christmas kit because, well, I asked and a lot of you said you'd enjoy that. Also, I'm in the Christmas spirit and I have photos set aside to create 11 layouts!

For my July kit, I shared 10 tips for creating your own kit, so if you haven't already, check that post out.

Let me just say that I don't scrapbook holidays very often. For some reason it's hard for me. I would much rather scrap everyday moment kind of stuff. So when I went to my local scrapbook store and saw some of the new Shimelle Christmas Magic collection, I was kind of surprised that it fell into my basket...*wink*. Half of the papers in this kit came from that collection. The others are made up from a few old and a few new things in my stash. Remember My Mind's Eye Lush and Glitz Finnley?

There are a few cardstocks and specialty papers thrown in there as well.

Next, I moved on to some lettering options. If you've seen my scraproom tour, you know that I have a wall of Thickers, so I made sure to include some in this kit. ;) I usually just pick one or two, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use glitter and foil for my holiday layouts.

I also threw in some small alphabet tile stickers from Basic Grey (pretty old) and some Studio Calico stickers from a few years back. It's good to have options, but not too many options.

Next I pulled a bunch of embellishments. I'll be honest and say that I can't remember the last time I bought Christmas embellishments and I pulled most of these from a December Daily kit I put together last year or a few years back...

The awesome thing about Christmas supplies is that they don't look out of date as quickly as regular supplies. I did throw in some new Maggie Holmes glitter stickers from her Shine collection because glitter just goes withe the holidays, doesn't it? The rest, as I said, is a bit older, like those Echo Park Christmas Sticker sheets.

Lastly, I wanted to include some stamps. I pulled the same stamps I used for my December Daily last year. I love stamping on my layouts (check out my new Stamping in Scrapbooking series on my YouTube channel) so I included two.

The first is an awesome set from Felicity Jane that came in last year's December kit. (Still available and it's linked below!) The other is an older Close to My Heart stamp set that I love.

If you want to see me put this kit together and learn the how's and the why's, watch the video below or over on my YouTube channel.
