I got six layouts out of my September Old Meets New stash kit. Last time I did a stash kit, I created twice as many. I tried to think of why I didn't get as many this time and the answer is simple. I'm busy doing other important things. Right now I'm working on two classes and I hope to be working on a third very soon! One to be released in the next week or so! Yay!

As July is coming to a close, I've finished up with my Old Meets New stash kit. I created 12 layouts in total. Wow! That's a lot from one kit, for me anyway. I created two process videos and two layout share videos (you can see them here.)

POOL
For this one I took out the red and focused on the pink.
10 YEARS
I really wanted to use that floral paper from Shimelle's True Stories line, so I hand cut the flowers and layered them on the side. I also fussy cut those hearts from a Dear Lizzy paper and lined 10 up below the photo.
HB AMAREE
This is one of my faves. I ended up taking the old Sassafras numbers, putting them on the background, covering them with a few layers of gesso, and adding color with some watercolors. Using paint is a great way to change up the look of a kit after you've worked with it for a while.
I outlined the number five because that's how old my niece was. I decided numbers are perfect for birthday layouts.
THE JOURNEY My other favorite. I have been taking Wilna Furstenburg's Fresh Techniques for Artful Layouts class on Craftsy and she has the most beautiful cut files. I used one for the title here. I really put my heart on this layout and I think that's why I love it.
I used gelatos for the background and then placed the cut file over the top. Aren't those colors gorgeous?
I also used some leaves that I painted and turned into a print and cut a few weeks back along with a few stickers and flair in the bottom cluster.
CUTE BOY
I realized that as I worked with the kit more, I started using mists and paints a bit more. This layout uses a few strips of patterned paper and it's really very simple. I liked using a 5x7 photo to switch things up a bit.
I AM
This layout was so fun! I used my 1" circle punch and went to town on my scraps. They look awesome all laid out on this background. I spritzed some Mr. Huey's mist on it and let it drip down and I really love that look.
LITTLE WEIRDO
This was my final layout and it was all about playing and using up some of what I had left. I placed my die cuts and stickers all over the background and gessoed over them. I like how it gives texture without being distracting. I used some more spray mists and a bunch of layered papers and a few circles left over from the last layout. It's definitely different for me!
One thing I love about these layouts is how one kit can really give you so many different looks. I had fun using it!
I will not be doing a stash kit in August because I've been working hard on an upcoming class that I hope to announce in a week or two. I am going to focus on that for August, but I'll be back with another stash kit in September.
