Ali Edwards Story Kits™ | Bond

The Bond Story Kit™ speaks to my heart. I have so many ideas for ways to document different kinds of bonds. The bond between my husband and daughter, the somewhat love/hate bond between my daughter and one of her friends, even my bond with the movies lately (yes, I've scrapbooked about the movies before, but this is an ever-evolving bond. Haha!).

Today, I decided to document the bond between my best friend and me. I kept the words simple, but I think I got my point across. I am still loving the prompt that these kits give me to tell stories like these each month.

As part of Ali's design team, we are asked to create projects using mostly digital items from her shop. I am a subscriber to the physical Story Kits™ as well, and I love incorporating them together. I used lots of fun hybrid scrapbooking techniques on this layout.

The faux stitched hearts came in the physical kit. I added some watercolor and chipboard stickers. I created my title in Silhouette studio by tracing the digital "Friends" stamp and cutting it out. I added the "Better Together" digital stamp and printed it before I cut.

I made the title area 2" wide so I could add that cute little half circle from the physical kit at the end. I also created some of my own plus sign patterned paper in Photoshop by creating a brush from a digital stamp. Learned how to do that in Ali's Hybrid class (awesome class, which she will be running again sometime this year, I believe!). I printed it on 8.5x11 white textured cardstock.

I wrote my journaling on a card from the physical kit and then took a 4x6 card from the digital kit, enlarged it to fit across the bottom of the page, and added the digital stamps "you" and "me" to it. The ampersand was green, so I changed it to black.

Working with the digital products really opens you up to endless possibilities and customization. And that's super fun. If you have any questions, please let me know! I've linked to all products that aren't part of the Story Kits™ below.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Jen, I'm wondering how you store/organize all your die cuts, sticker sheets and kits? Do you keep them by collection or mix them up?
    Thanks!
