Old Meets New Stash Kit: Layout Share

Last weekend I got the opportunity to go and scrapbook with some crafty friends, which was an absolute treat. Don't we all look happy?

Anyway...I took my stash kit with me. Kits are perfect for crops and scrappy gatherings because you don't have to bring much else. I created a few layouts that evening, so I thought I would share those with you today. I pulled some older photos to scrapbook and really enjoyed it!

The first is actually a mixture of my October Felicity Jane kit and my stash kit.

I didn't really have supplies in my kit that coordinated with this photo (theme-wise), so I looked to my Diamond Press mini die-cutting machine and some dies that I brought with me. I used clouds and hearts from Diamond Press and the word "hello" comes from Simon Says Stamp.

I used Jana's typewriter for my journaling - thanks Jana - and sprinkled some sequins around. I kind of love the simplicity. Not my usual MO...

Next, I created a layout about my first birthday! I had these photos of me with my dad's younger brothers and it got me thinking about whether my single uncles came around to visit their cute niece (me!) just like my brother and sister used to visit Malia when she was little.

I created a little birthday cake out of the photos and some chipboard stickers. Kind of digging the way that turned out.

One of the awesome things about scrapping with friends is borrowing their stuff. Those cute flowers were the perfect addition to the top of my cake. :) I think the tassels work there too.

Of course, color shine and sequins complete the look!

Lastly, I created a layout that's a bit of a departure from the norm for me. Part of the reason is because I used some old Sassafras paper that I've been hoarding forever...

I used another older photo - circa 2011. This is the first (and only) time Malia ever cut her hair!

I kind of threw on a bunch of items. The background paper has a kind of collaged look, so I feel like it worked here.

I also decided to hand script my title. It just looked right with the sketchy looking hearts on the layout. I want to start adding my script into my layouts again. (I actually have a class at Big Picture Classes talking about just that...)

I have a little layout share video for you if you want a bit of a closer look. And I've linked to all available products at the end of this post.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
