AE Digital Creative Team: June Projects

Today, I'm happy to share two projects using a few of the June digital releases from Ali Edwards. I have really enjoyed incorporating digital products into my projects in a way that works for me. Through that process, I've discovered that I love the versatility and the ability to make multiples. I am determined to show all of you how easy it can be, so I'm making an effort to include more process videos for these types of layouts.

This first project is a result of the momentum I have left over from the Read Story Kit - what an amazing kit! It has really inspired me to make reading a big part of my life again, so this horizontal 8.5 x 11 is all about my Return to Reading.

I created a border with the digital Read Messy Circles Filled along the bottom and printed them on some white cardstock. I added a circle from the Read Story Kit to give it a bit of dimension.

My title was created from a mixture of alphabet stickers (some Ali Edwards, Teresa Collins, and Studio Calico) and word/phrase embellishments from past story kits. It all lives on a piece of book paper that I ripped from an old book of poetry I keep around for that purpose. I kind of love that the phrase, "You can let her choose?" is visible between the rubber phrase and the title.

My journaling lives on some messy lines that come from an art screen included in the Read Story kit + Mt. Hood Acrylic Paint (silver). You could easily draw lines by hand as well. I added some stamping from The Story stamp set using new AE Crafter's Ink in Pendelton (a great option for stamping and on pre-order now!).

You can watch the whole layout come together in the process video below. It's a little lengthy, so grab a drink. :)

And here is the other layout I created this month.

It uses a digital journal card that I turned into a cut file to use as a stencil. I printed my photo at about 7.75 square so it could be the focal point. The rest of the layout is VERY simple and it is also horizontal 8.5 x 11 so I could put it in the same page protector as the previous layout.

The journal card came from the Summer Memories set and I used some light modeling paste to stencil with. I love that it is just a little bit translucent and you get a peek of the photo behind it.

I used an arrow stamp from the stamp set included in the Week in the Life kit + Pendelton Crafter's Ink. I think that's my favorite of the new colors. I just journaled several phrases that epitomize summer to me and told life to Bring it. Bring on evening walks. Bring on sleeping on the trampoline. Bring on evening walks. All those good things. Again, you can see my process in the video below.

Have you tried using digital products? What's holding you back? What kinds of videos would you like to see from me to help you out? Don't hesitate to leave a comment/question below.

Thanks for stopping by!
