Inspiration is Everywhere: Magazines and Newspapers

In this, the second installment of my "Inspiration is Everywhere" series, I want to show you how you can take newspaper and magazine layouts and use them almost like a sketch for a scrapbook page.

In the video below, I'll take you through various examples (I've pinned many of them to my Inspiration board on Pinterest), choose one, and create a layout.

Here is piece I was inspired by:

And here is my interpretation. By their very nature, newspaper and magazine articles are very clean and structured. I think it's important to acknowledge that you can keep it super graphic and linear, or put a more whimsical spin on it. I think I fell somewhere in the middle.

You can see that I put one photo at the top right and one at the bottom left with lines connecting everything, just like the inspiration, but I definitely embellished it and made it my own.

The lines are created with watercolor and I tucked lots of little bits and pieces around the photos.

I hope you're inspired to try using a magazine or newspaper layout as the jumping off point for your next scrapbook page! I've linked to all available products below, but as always, let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for stopping by!
