AE Story Kit: Craft

I love Ali Edward's theme for this month's Story Kit - Craft. I don't often think about documenting about crafting...because isn't scrapbooking about scrapbooking kind of weird? At least that's what I thought. And what I've been thinking all of these years, I guess.

But it's about more than that. It's about documenting who I am and what I do. And that makes total sense. So I created this layout. It's a two-page 8 1/2 x 11 horizontal layout. Yep. I've never done that before.

I used the new roller time stamp that came in the the AE Day in the Life kit to document what my days look like now that I've headed into the world of being my own boss. I'm putting these back to back in a Project Life® horizontal 8 1/2 x 11 page protector.  Here's a better look at the front page.

I found a photo of paints and a paintbrush (I took it as part of the marketing material for my Intro to Brush Script Class), added the word "MAKE" from the digital story kit,  and printed it as a full 8 1/2 x 11 page. I decorated it very simply with a few elements from the physical kit.

On the other page, I decided to talk a little bit about how I'm feeling about my creative job and list some of the things I create on a regular basis.

"Do what you love" is another digital element and I added a little label with the date and a rubber circle. I added a little chipboard phrase above my journaling.

It was super refreshing to try a different size and I think this story, which I hadn't ever thought to tell before now, was a really important one. It's such a huge part of who I am.

Sort of related to this layout about how I spend my days, I was recently a guest on my friend Tracie Claiborne's Live Inspired podcast talking all about how I budget my time and stay productive. You should definitely take a listen. One of my favorite podcasts.

Thanks for stopping by!

PS - I went to the American Crafts Warehouse sale today and filmed a little haul video. The Ali Edwards Day in the Life kit I referenced above is in the video too. :)

    1. Hi Mariette! I actually used the "Make" little label from the embellishments file. Because it was white and my background was too, I was able to blur the edges of the label so you couldn't see them. Does that make sense?
