Stash Kits: Old Meets New - We Sing We Play

Some of you know that I've been obsessed with brush script and hand lettering lately. Well, today I decided to incorporate that love on my layout, and I'm thrilled with the results! Here is the first layout using my September Stash Kit (if you want to see the kit contents, go here):

I am really happy with this layout and I also got what I consider to be a very important story, documented. I think it's good to tell stories about things we do all the time, not just events.

I typed my journaling on my typewriter. I really like to do that (instead of using my handwriting) when I use a scripty font for the title because I like the contrast. Speaking of title...

I used a peach color in my super inexpensive watercolor set and painted my title. I kind of love it. I think I'll be doing this again in the near future.

The other thing I love about this layout is the circle strips behind the photos. I used a 1" punch on white cardstock and backed most of the circles with patterned paper. I also really love that torn gold glitter tape.

I put a little gold polka dot vellum behind my photo and used a ruler to tear two of the edges. I like the subtle texture that adds. If you want to see the layout come together, you can watch this (rather long) video on my YouTube channel or below:
